Ingredients

Whey Protein Isolate

Unflavored

Protein gives your body the building blocks needed for repair. When you don't get enough, your forced to tap into your reserves. Then you to feel weak and lethargic. Preserve your energy levels by getting enough protein.*

Organic Cacao

Grown in Peru

Don't confuse the superfood cacao with plain old regular cocoa. Cacao is made by cold pressing un-roasted cacao beans for the maximum nutrition. Cocoa powder is cacao that has been roasted at high temperatures which damages the beneficial nutrition.

Organic Cane Sugar

Grown in Brazil

We don’t believe in using artificial sweeteners or flavorings. Using organic cane sugar is a great way to refuel your glycogen stores that get used up from exercise.*

Himalayan Sea Salt

Harvested in Pakistan

A dash of Himalayan sea salt balances the chocolate flavor. This pink wonder contains over 84 minerals and trace elements.*

Sunflower Lecithin

Protein on it’s own has a tendency to clump and not dissolve well. To make sure you don’t have this problem we use a small amount of lecithin from non-gmo sunflower.*

Good Stuff

The chocolate flavor is pretty bland. I add more cocoa to it. I still give it 5 stars because it's a quality product and the flavor doesn't take away from the nutritional value that it provides.

Nice, Carb-full Protein Mix

I have used this two days in a row now and I have to say, it’s really good. It has more of a dark chocolate taste to it because it’s low in sugar (only like 8g) but it’s not chalky and grainy. I mix this only using my blender and I always weigh and place the powder on top of 8oz of whole milk. It blends well but like any other protein or drink mix powder, it will stick if you put it on the bottom of your cup and then add the liquid. I definitely would not recommend using water because I don’t feel that it will taste good. The milk keeps is so creamy. If you don’t like dark chocolate, add a little hot cocoa mix to it to even out the dark unless you’re watching your carbs, unlike me. Also, the serving size is 30g or one scoop. I have weighed my protein powder and it’s like one scoop is about 30g. So you could probably get 30 servings instead of 15 servings if you weighed the powder. I think a lot of people are finding issues with dissolving because it’s too much protein powder to liquid. On a side note, if you have a severe wheat allergy like I do, or tree nut/peanut allergies, this seems very safe as I did not react to it. Gluten free isn’t always allergen free but this is great for those with severe food allergies like myself.

No substitutes, but the scoop is a lie

Finding a protein powder without sugar substitutes was way harder than it should have been. I have sensitivities to all substitutes, including "natural" ones like stevia, and apparently protein companies think every person who buys a protein powder is opposed to consuming sugar. The sweetness of this is very mild. I appreciate this, because I am not a big fan of super sweet things (my preferred cacao content of chocolate bars is 75%+) and this has just enough to somewhat disguise the chalky taste that is inevitable with whey (it will never get rid of it totally, accept that now.)That said, I am annoyed by the scoop. The serving size on the bag says 30 grams, and my suspicion was triggered by the lack of "one scoop" being stated on the nutrition label - usually, you would see "serving size: 30 grams (about one scoop)" or similar. So, I put a generous (rounded) scoop on the scale to find it was 25-26 grams at best. That might not seem like a lot, until you consider that if the serving size of 30 grams is 20 grams of protein, at 25 grams you're only getting 16 grams of protein, nowhere near what the label states. Customers, be advised, and to the company: put a 30 gram scoop in the product.
